Yancheng Biotechnology Higher Vocational and Technical College is a higher vocational college directly under the city, under the jurisdiction of the government. Its predecessor was "Jiangsu Yancheng Agricultural School", founded in 1952. In 1958, "Jiangsu Yancheng Agricultural College" was founded. In 1961, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Forestry approved it as "Yancheng Agricultural College". In 1975, with the approval of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, "Yancheng District 57 Agricultural University" was established, In 1978, the Jiangsu Provincial Revolutionary Committee decided to restore Yancheng Agricultural School in Jiangsu Province. In May 2004, the People's Government of Yancheng City decided to integrate resources and upgrade Yancheng Nanyang Vocational High School to a higher vocational school with the approval of the Provincial Department of Education. It was renamed "Yancheng Biotechnology Higher Vocational and Technical School" and also added the school logo of "Yancheng Biotechnology Branch of Jiangsu United Vocational and Technical College". In 2021, the school plaque of Yancheng Agricultural Vocational School will be added.
